Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, News & Update: Device to Be Packed With Incredible Features & Specs; 30MP Camera Coming? More Details

South Korean technology behemoth Samsung has had a mixed year so far with its Galaxy S7 smartphone making news for all the good reason and Galaxy Note 7 turning out to be an utter disaster. Now that Samsung has stopped production of Note 7 units, it has brought more pressure and attention to the fiasco. Will this chaos bring Samsung Galaxy S8?

The tech giant would desperately need to release the Samsung Galaxy S8 handset to partly make up for the losses and also reinstate consumer trust in the brand. Going by past releases, Samsung is likely to release the Galaxy S8 smartphone in March or April 2017. Some believe that the handset will be launched before MWC 2017.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 device is expected to undergo some design changes, marked upgrade from the Galaxy S7 handset. Rumors suggest that the upcoming device will have the Home button removed and the fingerprint sensor will find its place embedded in the display. Even the top and bottom edges of the display could be removed in the Galaxy S8 handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone may have a 5.1-inch display whereas the Galaxy S8 Edge could sport a big 5.5-inch OLED display. Experts believe such a display is cool enough to compete with Apple's 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones.

The tech giant may also be going with the 4K display for its flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 to enable VR functions. It could also have a whopping 30MP primary camera and an 8MP selfie snapper. The Korean tech giant could be using two different processors for different regions. One could be an octa-core Snapdragon 830 chipset with 6GB RAM and the other an Exynos 8895 processor.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S8 could sport an Iris scanner, an in-built projector, smart glow and USB Type-C ports. It will be interesting to see if Samsung also chooses to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack just like Apple. A mega 4,200 mAh battery could be incorporated into the device.

The pricing of the handset would be important as Samsung cannot make the phone too expensive though it will be pretty expensive. Stay tuned on GameNGuide for more updates on the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone.
