‘Frozen 2’ Release Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Kristen Bell Confirms Voice Recording for ‘Frozen’ Special; Sequel Arrives in 2018! Gameplay Details

By now, it's no surprise that "Frozen 2" is happening. Earlier this year, there had been new updates on the sequel to the 2013 hit Disney animated feature film.  Kristen Bell, who voiced Anna in the original movie, revealed that voice recording sessions would start by March, but it appears that the cast has not gathered together just yet. The "Veronica Mars" actress already clarified that recording hasn't begun and that the script is still undergoing some polishing.

There's no need to hurry "Frozen 2" as great results take time to achieve. While Bell already explained that recording for the sequel hasn't started, she did reveal that she and the other voice actors like Idina Menzel and Josh Gad, will be back together for an Olaf special to be released on Christmas 2017. "At the change of season at the parks, whether it's for Disneyland, Epcot, or when Japan opens, we will record new voices for our characters, but we actually haven't started recording for the second Frozen. But what we have been working on is an Olaf Christmas special that we're doing for next year," Bell told Collider.

For now, plot details of "Frozen 2" have been kept under wraps. However, there are reports suggesting that the sequel had to undergo several rewrites to the story as there have been different ideas thrown at Disney. One of the popular storylines involves the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend campaign, which aims to encourage Disney to turn the Queen Arendelle into a lesbian princess and give her a female love interest in the second installment. There were even speculations that the Arendelle sisters will turn against each other for the crown.

With silence on Disney's end, the plot speculations just keep coming. Fans should note, however, that none of the circulating reports are confirmed so they must be taken with a grain of salt. What's certain for now is that the "Frozen 2" movie is slated to hit theaters in 2018 and directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will be back on board to direct.
