‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ Could Integrate Saved Games, Has 36 Different Endings

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is hoping to be one of the biggest releases of next year. To that end, Marek Ziemak, gameplay producer at CD Projekt RED for “The Witcher 3” calls the game a  “a fresh beginning.” The stage is set “for new events – this gives us a lot of creative freedom, of course.”

Ziemak tells Softpedia the new game features a different plot than the other titles in the series, although some old favorites will show up. “We hope that this won’t feel like an intrusion for new players and most of them will even not notice the subtle nudges towards the collective history.”

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” will offer 36 different endings. These endings will be preceded by three different epilogue sequences.

The game’s combat system will also get more new additions, it seems. “Also you will be able to use the environment to your advantage. The AI will be more intelligent and dangerous. We’ve changed the magic signs systems so now one sign has two versions,” Ziemak says.

“You will still have to drink potions before combat, but you will be able to activate their effects any time you want, as witchers can control their metabolism.”

Asked if the new PlayStation 4 has influenced the core mechanics of “The Witcher 3,” and if there will be any elements of the game exclusive to the PC, Ziemak confirms the company wants to give each platform an optimized version.

“We have designed the game so the user interface is unique for every platform the game will be available on,” he adds.

“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is expected to release in 2014 for PC and other next-gen consoles.
