‘Dead Space 4’ News & Update: Questions are Raised Over Fourth Installment; Visceral Drops Hints!

After the not-so-impressive sales of "Dead Space 3," the idea "Dead Space 4" has been shoved up to the shelves, quite naturally. EA tried their best in making the game more appealing, but things didn't quite work out the way they intended. Still, a question collectively being raised is the possibility of a fourth installment.

While the bar is set pretty high for "Dead Space 4," Steve Papoutsis of Visceral Games did somewhat confirm that there might be a chance for a sequel. In his interview with GamesTM, the general manager talked about the future of the game. "Many, many people here at Visceral have a warm spot in their heart for Dead Space, and right now we're busy with Hardline ... but it's definitely something ['Dead Space 4'] we'd love to look at again," he said.

Remembering Frank Gibeau's previous announcement, the materialization of "Dead Space 4" will depend solely on the performance of "Dead Space 3." The preceding installment, unfortunately, did not make the cut, but Papoutsis' statement somehow implies that all hope isn't lost for "Dead Space 4."

Meanwhile, Visceral Games and EA are still hard at work for "Battlefield Hardline." The first beta test wasn't wildly received by players, but rolling out the Hotwire mode on their second try proved effective and easily won hearts. To be blunt, the same recovery should be applied in the development of "Dead Space 4." After all, both Visceral Games and EA already know by now how to get their hands full in navigating their way back to the proper path for hype.

Apart from "Battlefield Hardline," Visceral Games is also gearing up for a new "Star Wars game," given EA now has the rights to the license, reports IGN. This holds a lot of questions for the impending release "Dead Space 4." Nonetheless, what fans can hold onto right now is Steve Papoutsis' statement and of course, EA's decision once "Hardline" is released.
