‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ Release Date, News & Update: Game Gets Delayed Again? Arriving Along With Nintendo Switch?

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is expected to come to Nintendo Switch and Wii U in 2017. There are many who are pretty skeptical about the idea. Despite the Wii U console's low popularity of late, independent developers have quite a few releases lined up for the Wii U eShop.

As per Digital Trends, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" would be the console's final first-party release when the game ships in 2017. Those who are skeptical about the game releasing alongside Nintendo Switch, have reasons to believe so.

Earlier reports had suggested that the Nintendo Switch would release in March 2017 and that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" would also be released same time. However, the month was removed swiftly thereafter. Probably Nintendo is unsure whether the game is absolutely okay to be released.

Apart from the Great Plateau, fans have not seen anything much as regards "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." They haven't been introduced to anything new ever since E3 2016 demo was showcased. Moreover, when Digital Foundry did an in-depth benchmark of the demo, it found the frame rate to be unstable.

Thus, performance issues may also stall the release of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." As per iDigital Times, the representation of the Great Plateau at the E3 2016 was big but empty. Nintendo had stated back then that NPCs were removed to preserve plot elements. However, it is also possible that much of the storyline is not finished yet.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was the first game that Nintendo Switch showed but hardcore gaming fanatics were not certain about the footage. They even showed differences in color saturation. Nintendo even said that the Switch game footage were not representative of final products.

All these point to a different release date for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." As Nintendo has not confirmed anything as of now, fans have to play the waiting game for the time being.
