'Microsoft Surface Phone' Release Date, News & Update: Powered By An Intel Processor? Images Revealed

An entirely new smartphone that has been dubbed as the Surface phone is speculated to be the new product from Microsoft. Many users expect that this new phone will be revealed during the event in New York City last October, but it was not even unveiled.

Users thought that it is a good news when Evan Blass with a pen name @evleakes known to be an American phone leaker has tweeted an image of a phone with a caption "powered by a laptop-class intel processor".

Since there are rumors about Microsoft working on the Surface Phone, they thought that the image on Twitter was the actual handset according to Geeky Gadgets. However, they found out that the images were of a Dell smartphone that has never been shipped and not the Surface phone.

Blass posted more images of the phone after someone commented on his first post saying that it was a nice concept but there is nothing more about it.  He replied it saying that it is much more than a concept and they should stay tuned. The images uploaded by Evan Blass are hinting that the phone will come real soon.

On the other hand, there are rumors that the snapdragon 830 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM will power the Surface Phone. Blass' tweet gives ideas to users that it is possible that a Surface phone can be powered by a laptop class Intel processor. But as of this moment, it is only a concept phone and there's a small chance that it will be released.

Microsoft is targeting the high end market. They are expected to load its upcoming flagship smartphone with a better top of the lines specs. There will be three models of Surface Phone. It is presumed to compete with Apple's latest iPhones and Google's Pixels.

According to Learnbonds, the Surface phone is expected to be launched in 2017. It is expected to cost up to $699. This three model phones aim to get the attention of business and corporate users.
