ARMA 3 Alpha Updated With Optimized Dynamic Lights, Serialization Fix

Bohemia Interactive’s upcoming open world tactical shooter title ARMA 3’s current alpha build has received some new updates from developers with an aim to make the game more life-like.

ARMA 3, as of now, is set for a Q3 2013 release and the developers have been constantly pushing out a number of updates for some time now, with new additions almost every time. This new update deals with optimizations for the in-game dynamic light, fully enabled Fog effect, and fixes to serialization of particle emitters.

There have been a number of changes made and additions to the game data. With the new patch in action, the Splendid Camera roll speed will be decreased and players will no longer be inclined to take screens with too extreme roll. The patch has also removed use of vulnerable script commands in DynO functions.

This is a significant patch. The developers have managed to fix the crashes related to PhysX, improved the path planning related to roads, and players can now crouch instead of fully standing up on steep surfaces.

The patch also makes sure that the AI now uses optics better to detect enemies, alongside a fix to switching HDR settings that caused graphical corruption, and fixes to make sure that ships are now using the correct ARMA 3 gearbox.

As per usual, the patch will auto-downloaded from Steam the next time the user runs the game.
