DICE Has Something New For E3, And It’s Not Linked To Battlefield [LEAK]

EA is already preparing for what’s supposed to be a big reveal event at this year’s upcoming E3, and now a recent statement from EA’s Frank Gibeau has hinted toward the possibility of announcing some new titles from EA and Bioware at the event.

As of now, EA Sports has already confirmed that it will be showing off its next-generation engine at E3 in June in California, and Gibeau, during EA’s call conference, had the following to say:

“Regarding next generation consoles, we are under a non-disclosure agreement with our platform partners, however, we’re planning a full reveal at E3 including more next generation titles in development for FY14. This will include breakthroughs in graphics and gameplay for some of our biggest franchises including Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NBA LIVE, and Need for Speed. We plan to unveil new titles from EA SPORTS, Bioware, and DICE and a first look at some brand new games.”

DSOGaming was the first to notice, via the statement, that while EA is planning a full reveal for the new Battlefield title at E3, the company is also expected to unveil some other new title or titles from DICE. What this means is that DICE is currently working on something new, the first glimpse of which might arrive directly at the E3.

The site also notes that DICE still has the highly anticipated sequel to Mirror’s Egde in mind as few days ago “Johan Andersson, Technical Director on Frostbite at DICE, said that Mirror’s Edge is difficult to forget,” the site writes. Although this could be a coincidence (and there are possibilities that it might), but Mirror’s Edge 2 could be one of those “brand new games.”

However, it will be interesting to see what EA DICE finally brings forward at the event, especially after EA sealed the Star Wars deal with Disney. At that time, it was revealed that new Star Wars games will be developed by DICE, Visceral Games and BioWare.
