LG G6 Specs, Features, News & Update: Forthcoming Flagship to Ditch D5’s Modular Design; G6 to be Fueled by Snapdragon 830?

While LG may not be as gigantic as Apple and Samsung, the South Korean electronics behemoth is on its way in taking over the smartphone industry with the upcoming release of the LG G6. In 2017, the next-gen flagship phone will showcase some spectacular innovations, in an attempt to fill the large shoes of its predecessor, the LG G5.

While several upgrades have been already leaked, the latest tip to hit the speculation train is that the LG G6 will come without the G5's modular design. The recent update has been the talk of the Korean media as well, which is further fueled by news of the smartphone to be equipped with an iris scanner.

At a recent technology show, LG Innotek unveiled a new single module that doubles as a selfie camera and an iris scanner and a traditional double-camera iris scanner. Given Innotek is a division of LG, the idea of applying this kind of technology in the yet-to-be-released LG G6 seems plausible.

Considering that LG has been consistent in wowing the public with their top of the line products, LG G6 ditching its sibling's mods isn't a far-fetched idea. After all, the company is frequently listed as one of the top smartphone brands on a global scale.

What's more, LG G6 is purported to be fueled by the Snapdragon 830, something that Qualcomm hasn't materialized yet as well. What we're more likely to see in the upcoming unit is a massive RAM (6 GB or more!) and dual camera capabilities, which actually are common specs in most smartphones these days.

Expected to be launched next year, the LG G6 already looks like a promising device worth investing on. The official release date hasn't been confirmed by the company yet, but if we are to take hearsay seriously, LG G6 might make its debut at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
