Rockstar's PS2 Classics Manhunt and The Warriors Coming to PSN

Obviously we're all waiting for Rockstar to dole out more GTA V info, but that's not happening today. However, their newswire is still rife with good, non-GTA related news. The company is releasing some classics from their catalog from the PS2 era.

As it's the 10 year anniversary, the company is re-releasing the controversey laden, playable snuff-film Manhunt. The game made something of a name for itself (see just why below), and was one of my own personal favorites. And it pissed off Jack Thompson good n' plenty, so obviously it must have some redeeming qualities. Graphic violence? Check. Drug fueled ramblings? Yep. Naked man with a chainsaw wearing a pig mask? There's your trifecta. Add in narration from Brian Cox and it's all gravy.

Once your blood lust is satisfied, you can follow things up with another Rockstar smash, The Warriors, based on the 80's cult classic. The Warriors was almost-but-not-quite a revival of the beat 'em up arcade brawlers like Final Fight, with some hoodlum mini-games like stealing car stereos thrown in for good measure. The game had players re-live some of the moments of the cult hit movie, but fleshed it out a bit with flashback scenes.

Manhunt arrives May 14th and will be available for $9.99. Rockstar hasn't given word yet on when players can pretend they're Ajax and take it to the Baseball Furies though in The Warriors, but we'll let you know when they do.
