Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, News & Update: Device Confirmed for Early 2017 Arrival? Expected Specs, Features & Price Details Revealed

With Black Friday coming up, various deals are now bound many devices. However, many reports say that users should turn a blind eye on the deals for the Surface Pro 4, as the release of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is just around the corner.

Expected Release Date

While the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 was noticeably left out from the recent Microsoft event, many still believe that the hybrid device is indeed arriving very soon. While the Surface Pro 4 is no doubt a powerhouse in the current market, fans have been clamoring for an update.

There have been talks saying that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may be coming early next year. Microsoft had announced before that the delay in the Windows 10 Creators Update was because it was supposed to be released alongside new Surface devices. With the Surface Studio and the Surface Book i7 geared for release, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 for 2017 is just the logical next step.

Microsoft Holding Back the Release?

The Surface Pro lineup has been one of the most successful device ranges from Microsoft. While it has been out for quite a while now, the Surface Pro 4, the predecessor of Microsoft Surface Pro 5, is still going up head on with its newer competitors.

It also worth noting that the tech giant is still making a lot of profit from the Surface Pro 4. This may be one of the main reasons why Microsoft is still holding out on the release of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. With the Surface Studio and the new Surface Book just released, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may just have a special announcement of its own soon.

Expected Features

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to pack a larger battery for longer usage, as well as a new and more powerful processor. This is what Microsoft did with the update for the Surface Book i7. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also expected to tout a lot of new features.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, the Kaby Lake processors from Intel are expected to come with the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. Along with this is at least 16GB of RAM, 2K and 4K display resolutions, USB Type-C ports, and a whole lot more in the hybrid device's arsenal.
