Lego Friends Game Coming To Nintendo DS And 3DS This Fall

Legos aren't just for movie franchises anymore. LEGO Friends will hit the Nintendo DS and 3DS this Fall say The LEGO Group, TT Games (in association with Hellbent Games) and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment . Based on the popular toy line of the same name, LEGO Friends is focused specifically on young female gamers, or any gamer that wants more "cute and cuddly" with their building blocks.

LEGO Friends takes place in the colorful, friendly world of Heartlake City. Players can hang out with their new virtual friends, helping them choose what to do and how to do it. For instance, a young girl named Emma may need help taking photos for her job at the local newspaper, while Andrea may need help choosing a song for her upcoming concert. After reaching "True Friend" status with these characters, players can throw a party to celebrate that new friendship.

"We are very proud to welcome even more girls into the world of LEGO video games with a title based on the best-selling LEGO Friends line," says Tom Stone, Managing Director, TT Games, in a statement. "LEGO Friends allows players to build personal fun adventure while expressing their individual style and personality along the way."

Aside from making new virtual friendships, players are encouraged to adopt and raise a pet, training them to do tricks and dressing them up in fun accessories. Of course, the player character can be customized just as much, with new hairstyles, accessories, clothing and more. The game rounds out the "Sims" style play with the ability for players to design and decorate their bedrooms and homes.

LEGO Friends will also feature horse riding championships, cupcake delivery games, dance routines, soccer games, karate practice and even animals to care for at the rescue center.

LEGO Friends will launch on Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS sometime this fall. An official release date has yet to be announced.
