'Assassin's Creed' Release Date, News & Update: The Next Big Thing For Michael Fassbender

As time goes by technology is more advanced and there are plenty of inventions that are made to enhance human lifestyle. Such scenario is present in the upcoming movie "Assassin's Creed". The movie focuses on Michael Fassbender as Callum, a man who woke up inside a room without a trace of his memory and how he ended up there.

The story of "Assassin's Creed" starts when Callum discovers that he was executed and is supposed to be dead but certain people pulled some strings so that he will be part of their experiment. They used an advanced technology that unlocks and reveals a person's past, including that of his ancestors.

"Assassin's Creed" will be released in cinemas on Dec. 21, 2016, four days before Christmas. On the other hand, it will reach the British cinemas on Jan. 6, 2017 according to Den of Geek. 

Fassbender is popular for his role as the young Professor Xavier in "X-Men: Days of Future Past". In 2015, he starred in the biopic "Steve Jobs" and earned a nomination for Best Actor in the Academy Awards.

With his triumph, fans are looking forward to what will be the next big thing about him in this movie but surely they will not be disappointed judging by the promising trailer that was just released for "Assassin's Creed."

The film will be directed by Justin Kurzel and produced by New Regency, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, DMC Films and Kennedy/Marshall. Fassbender will star opposite Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard, who will play Sophia Rikkin, a scientist. Jeremy Irons will play Alan Rikkin, Sophia's father and CEO of Abstergo Industries.

Gamespot reported that the movie will not take in 15th century Spain. The game, "Assassin's Creed" also features historical locations, and the film is expected to reflect that.
