Telltale Announces 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Game' In The Works

Marvel Studios' risque intergalactic opera "Guardians Of The Galaxy" is one of its biggest successes yet. Two years into its initial release and just in time for the much-anticipated sequel "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2" that is due out on April 2017, game developer Telltale Games announces that they have in development a proper video game treatment to be released across various platforms soon.

Telltale Games is the studio behind video game successes such as the "Jurassic Park", "The Walking Dead", and "Batman" games that use highly interactive gameplay. The decisions that players make in these games directly affect the story and overall experience of the game. The new game will be released as "Guardians Of The Galaxy: The Video Game (aka Blue Harvest)" and is the first Marvel property Telltale has ever worked on.

The movie where the game is based on is directed by "Slither" director James Gunn, who is also currently working on a sequel to the movie. In it, we follow a space bandit called Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) who gets entangled in a jumbled mess with a motley crew of ne'er-do-wells and space outcasts.

One thing that is key about the "Guardians Of The Galaxy" movies is its penchant for 80's pop culture. From Blue Swede to LEGO toysets, Star-Lord is a legitimate pop-hound and should make for a high-stakes video game like Telltale's "Game Of Thrones" and "Batman" video games, but more importantly, it is going to be stupidly fun. Even the video game title (read: "Blue Harvest") references the best of George Lucas' "Star Wars".

No official word yet as to when the game would become available and on which platforms will it launch, but the game is expected to be widely available in platforms such as but not limited to mobile platforms such as Android, iOS, Win, OS X, as well as gaming systems like PS3, PS4, X360 and Xbox One.
