'Resident Evil 2' Remake Release Date, News & Update: Game Not Canceled; Beta Version to Arrive in Early 2017?

"Resident Evil 2" Remake remained mysterious as very little is known about it until now. All that avid players know at this time is that the game is being built. No other details like what might have changed or retained in the gameplay have ever been released.

Since InvaderGames team issued a statement in 2015, confirming that Capcom invited and asked them to stop the "Resident Evil: Reborn" project, Capcom has been quiet about "Resident Evil 2" Remake. This silence is the reason why fans are left wondering whether the project is still in the works.

InvaderGames, the Italy-based fan group and indie video game house that created "Resident Evil 2: Reborn," stated that they agreed to ditch the project, upon the request of Capcom. The Invader team explained that they did it after the Japanese game developer revealed big plans for the development of "Resident Evil 2" Remake.

This statement clearly confirmed that plans for "Resident Evil 2" Remake exist. And as if this is not enough to take away the worries of fans who think it is not coming anymore, the person in charge of the remake Masochika Kawata affirmed that they are working on it.

In his recent exclusive interview with Yugatech, Kawata was asked to say something about "Resident Evil 2" Remake. "There's a separate producer for RE Remake 2, who is hard at work right now," he answered. "All that we can say is we hope that we'd have information to share soon."

As for "Resident Evil 2" Remake release date, no information is available about it. However, fans and observers are assuming that Capcom is releasing a preview of the game when "Resident Evil 7" arrives in January 2017. There are also specualtions that it is possible that the beta version of the game will also be available by that time.
