‘Hunter x Hunter’ Fans’ Growing Impatience As Yoshihiro Togashi’s Still in Hiatus

Where is Yoshihiro Togashi by the way? Fans of the manga-turned-anime hit “Hunter x Hunter” have gone impatient as the manga has been stuck in its chapter 360 for quite a long time now.

As previously reported by the Game N Guide, Togashi has gone on a hiatus for an indefinite time after his back pain had worsened. But some fans are not buying this excuse from Togashi after he was seen pretty health as ever partying at an anime event in Tokyo last month.

For almost two decades, “Hunter x Hunter” has established a wide fan based in all parts of the world, which makes sense because the anime was first released in 1991 and was remade in 2011.

In order to pacify the growing impatient with its fans, Viz Media, the animation studio that produce the anime had come up with a sensible solution. In order to address the backlog on the manga’s episode, new writers were reportedly hired to do the illustration while Togashi’s away.

But it was previously revealed that this strategy did not work because Togashi did not like the commissioned writers’ quality of work. This suggests that apart from going on an indefinite rest, Togashi also is hard to please, the Anime News Network reports.

Thankfully, there’s a gleam of hope for the anime version as Togashi’s wife has stepped out to do the shooting for the “Hunter x Hunter” season 3. Naoko Takeuchi, also a great animator herself, has also started working on the script for the “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 361, which has been stalled for a few months now.

Takeuchi is best known for her popular creations, including “Sailor Moon”, which became an anime hit during the 1990s. But there’s still no final release date for both the manga’s chapter 361 as well as the season 3 of the anime.
