New York Knicks Rumors: Carmelo Anthony To Seek Trade After Phil Jackson's Racist Remarks On LeBron James

After LeBron James and Phil Jacskon exchange words, the New York Knicks could face another travesty as Carmelo Anthony could opt himself out of the team after the 'racist' remarks from the team's president. With Melo's ability to shoot the basketball, multiple teams would love to add the 6'8" forward to their squad.

With three years left in his current contract with the New York Knicks and the option to terminate on the third year, at 32 years of age, Carmelo Anthony was given another reason to find greener pastures before he retires and put him in a position to win a championship. To date, teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics have long been rumored to acquire Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks.

Just this week, Phil Jackson called LeBron James and his group a 'posse' which his subordinates called a racist comment. This resulted for LeBron James to lose his respect and use the word 'had' when it was brought about.

Earlier this year, LeBron James expressed his interest to play with Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony and before they all retire. With Chris Paul's contract having an option to terminate next season, it is only Carmelo Anthony left that could possibly make LeBron James' wish possible.

For now, the only way for Carmelo Anthony to leave the New York Knicks is through a trade. His salary would mean that the Cavaliers should involve Kevin Love in the deal while the Boston Celtics will have to put Al Horford.

Currently, Carmelo Anghony has been healthy and has been giving All-Star numbers for the New York Knicks as he is averaging 22.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists while shooting 51.1% of his field goals and 83.6% of his free throws during the first 10 games of the 2016-2017 NBA Season.
