Plasma Pig For iOS: This Little Piggy Needs A Little Motivation [REVIEW]

“Big man, pig man, ha ha charade you are.” – Pink Floyd (Animals, 1977)

Plasma Pigs has a lot of potential to become a really exciting game, but as the Pink Floyd song goes, somewhere down the line it loses all the focus that it was built upon.

Plasma Pigs is a great game with a familiar in-game mechanic that even people who hardly take up mobile gaming, will find easy to play. However, after a few levels, you will realize how the game could have been even better had the developers Angry Avocado Apps put just a little bit more into it while developing.

The game is about Pigsley, an average Earth pig, transported to the planet Lardo where he soon becomes a high profile target for the alien overlord due to his penchant for anything bacon. All the player needs to do is use his fingers intelligently to guide Pigsley to the end of the level.

Players need to draw inclined ramps and platforms to guide Pigsley safely away from danger and this mechanic is amazingly simple enough to pick up. Moreover, Pigsley can also be tilted to help nudge him in the right direction.

While the early stages may seem a little bit too easy, the hardness factor arrives when the player is deep into the game, many levels down the line. In the other half of the game, players will be introduced to pedestals that are kind of bounce pads and other such features that will suddenly make the game a bit more complex than it was at the start.

There are around 100 levels in the game, and players will face a bit of dilemma and will be forced to make a judgment due to the fact that there’s only limited amount of ink or “plasma” present, and once you run out of it, it’s game over.

The game can be credited with an impressive style of presentation because it’s such a treat for the eyes. It’s all filled with pretty colors and different backgrounds such as desert, ice, or even a jungle add to the dynamics of the game. The background score also deserves mention for its delighfully silly nature.

Plasma Pig is a pretty puzzle game that may not be the most complex game around, but will make you pick up your phone when you least expect it to try to get a higher score.
