Grumpy Cat Getting Her Own Movie; Internet Close To Devouring Itself

You know her. You probably love her. And you've seen her on your computer screen hundreds of times.

Tardar Sauce, better known to the internet world as Grumpy Cat, has become one of the most famous living beings in the whole world, human or otherwise. Her naturally frowning face that spawned thousands of memes and gifs will now take over an all new screen: The silver one.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the beloved feline will be getting her very own movie. The film will be handled by Broken Road Productions (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Jack & Jill), and Grumpy Cat's persona will likely be handled via CGI and whatever humourously disgruntled voice actor the studio can find.

Born in April of 2012, Grumpy Cat first rose to fame when her owner's brother posted the now-famous picture of her on Reddit. The meme is now recognized all over the web, and is typically captioned with humorously dark statements such as "I had fun once....it was awful." Since her explosion all acrosss the internet, the cat's owner Tabatha Bundensen took time off of her day job to help manage Tardar's schedule, which seems like is going to only get busier from here. Grumpy Cat's transition to the big screen shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who even casually browses the web, as the frowning feline has been everywhere from national news networks to this year's South by Southwest festival.

Grumpy Cat's transition onto the big screen is certainly proof of the influence that viral memes have over general pop culture. Are you excited for the Grumpy Cat movie, or will it kill the magic of that iconic, static image of feline disdain?
