Bella Hadid And Plus Sized Women: People Need To Stop Demonising Skiny Bodies

Modeling industry has witnessed changes time and again. Remember when Anna Wintour took over Vogue, she succeeded in making a remarkable change in the perception of how people get scared of fashion, she bought the celebrity culture in.

And now, years after when skinny demon like bodies walk the ramps for some of the most sought after Fashion shows in the world, people have started criticizing them, certainly for not giving any space to curvaceous women. As, thirst for curves and bends is taking over bony lanks, model Bella Hadid becomes the matter of a similar discussion.

As the 20 year old Hadid signed up a major campaign with Nike and captioned one of her latest pictures, "So excited to announce that I am officially part of the Nike family! More coming very soon", Sportswear fans have been quick to condemn Nike's choice of newly-appointed Victoria's Secret model. Some comments were like this - "Nike?

She's not an athlete but more importantly it's giving young girls unrealistic expectations yet again" and "Sport brands need to use an athletic bodied person to model". To empower women of all shapes and sizes, the body positive movement has been initiated.

Plus size models like Ashley Graham and Tess Holliday are credited to give more power to a new generation of women, so that they start embracing their curves whilst challenging the notion of an "ideal body". With this, thin women have now been sidelined, for depicting self-absorbed and obsessive.

While Bella has remained in news time and again for her hard-work in this young age, many big brand have remained associated to her name including, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Victoria's Secret, Dior etc. Bella's elder sister and supermodel Gigi has remained in limelight much for her skin show and representing impressive campaigns.
