Fans were quite disappointed to learn that "Grand Theft Auto 6" will not be released until 2016. But it looks like there is even more bad news on the horizon as rumors are rife that the latest installment to the hit video game might be pushed towards a 2019 release.
The last GTA game was launched in 2013 and it was everything fans of the game ever wanted. But that was years ago, and barring the recent remaster of "GTA 5" for the PS4 and Xbox One systems, will make it six long years from the purported 2019 release of "Grand Theft Auto 6."
So what is up with Rock Star games? Why are they waiting so long to release their number one moneymaker? The answer is simple; "Red Dead Redemption 2". Recently announced last October, "Red Dead Redemption 2" according to a source, is now the number one priority for the developer to release. The short time frame that they placed for the game which is in the fall of 2017 will make it hard for the developer to focus on "Grand Theft Auto 6."
Until further details are revealed, fans will have to make do with some rumors about "Grand Theft Auto 6" floating around on the internet. According to this site, "Grand Theft Auto 6" will enlist Hollywood actress Eva Mendez as a female protagonist for the game which is quite a groundbreaking thing for Rock Star to do considering that their core market is dominantly male. The rumor further states that her husband Ryan Gosling will also do a male counterpart for Mendez' character.
Furthermore, "Grand Theft Auto 6" is said to try and take a different route from previous games. The reason behind this is the conflict between the company and former head Leslie Benzies as the two are engaged in a legal battle. This could also explain why the next GTA is getting a longer time to be released.
