Angela Basset to Join Marvel’s 'Black Panther', Academy-Award Winning Actress Thrilled

Angela Bassett has just joined the star-studded cast of Marvel's Film Adaptation of "Black Panther". According to ET, the Academy- Award winning actress will play the role of Ramonda, who is the mother of T'Challa or also known as the Black Panther.

After gaining much attention from her role on the "American Horry Story", Bassett is set to leave her audience wanting for more as he join's "Black Panther's" impressive cast. She joins Oscar winners Forrest Whittaker, Lupita Nyong'o, "The Walking Dead's" Danai Gurira, Black Mirror actor Daniel Kaluuya, and Creed star Michael B. Jordan. There are also some talks about Andy Serkis and Marteen Sheen to reprise their roles as two previous Marvel Universe stars.

Some critics see the movie as more than just a superhero film. It's trying to break every superhero's stigma as Black Panther is the first black superhero that gets to be in his own film. The story also revolves its narrative to Africa, even though the story takes place in a fictionalized country. Black Panther will follow T'Challa's rise to power in Wacanda and his struggles to keep his throne.

In the 1994 Academy Awards, Angela Basset was nominated for Best Actress for her movie "What's Love Got to Do With It". Since then, critics have recognized her skills and since received different nomination from various acting guilds including three Primetime Emmy Awards. Aside from her passion for acting, Angela Basset has also been busy with adding directing credits to her name which is based on the most recent episode of American Horror Story: Roanoke. Her fans will still see her on TV in the upcoming miniseries called "Close to the Enemy", which stars both Freddy Highmore and Alfred Molina.

The film will be released on February 16, 2018. Fans will surely appreciate "Black Panther" and may even open new doors for her when it comes to acting.
