Orlando Salido vs. Vasyl Lomachenko Part II? Rematch Appears Inevitable

Orlando Salido is very open to give Vasyl Lomachenko a rematch, should the Ukrainian be able to overcome Nicholas Walters in their super featherweight mega-fight Saturday at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Salido, the only man to defeat Lomachenko in his pro boxing career so far, has no problem slugging it out with one of the best fighters in the world, pound-for-pound. He added there's some unfinished business between him and the Ukrainian pugilist.

"I feel that there's some unfinished business between us and that's why I am hoping for Lomachenko victory," Salido told reporters via Boxing Scene.com

"I am very happy with my win over him, but as a warrior you always want to prove yourself against the best and as he seems to think that he can win a second fight against me, I would like to give him the opportunity to do it"

Salido scored arguably his greatest win in his boxing career after coming through with a split decision verdict against Lomachenko in their WBO featherweight championship showdown in 2014. The Ukrainian was aiming to become the fastest fighter to win a world champion in his second pro bout.

Since then, Lomachenko recorded five straight victories, including three scintillating KO wins against Gamalier Rodriguez, Romulo Koasicha and Roman Martinez. Salido, on the other hand, had two draws, a loss and a win in his last four bouts.

After recording a loss and draw with Martinez, Salido slugged it out with Francisco Vargas for the WBO super featherweight title, but that bout ended in a draw.

"I felt - like many people - that I won my last two fights and that I should be getting the big fight as a world champion. I wish the best for Lomachenko tonight and if he wants to avenge his loss to me I will be very happy to give him a rematch."
