2K confirms Ultimate Warrior as a DLC character for WWE 2K14

Just in case a magazine ad right out of the pages of the official WWE magazine wasn't good enough for you, 2K games has since confirmed that the Ultimate Warrior will indeed feature as a DLC character in WWE 2K14.

As a press release detailed, the "the self-professed "Founding Father of Life Intensity" will be an exclusive playable character for those who pre-order the game at any participating retailer for the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft or PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system."

Younger readers and wrestling fans may not remember, but the colorful wrestler alter ego of Jim Hellwig, now legally known simply as "Warrior," was one of the standouts of the organization during the late 80's and early 90's, when it was known as the WWF. The Warrior defeated Hulk Hogan in "The Ultimate Challenge" at WrestleMania in 1990, which made him to first Superstar of the organization to hold both the Championship and Intercontinental Championship simultaneously.

"Immortality is inspiration, pure and simple. An example to others that they, too, can do things larger than the life they are actually living, and Ultimate Warrior was the pure embodiment of this belief, in what has proven to be a very attention-getting and inspiring way," said Jim "Warrior" Hellwig. "It was my good fortune to be his creator and performer, and I am humbled by all those fans who've not only kept his legacy alive, but deepened it over time. In WWE 2K14, Ultimate Warrior's creed, 'Always Believe,' lives on."

You can see the Warrior in an announcement trailer below. Having abandoned his trademark long hair, he looks a lot more like Sting did before he developed his obsession with "The Crow." Still, his ranting and raving comes across a lot better than it did during his speech at the University of Connecticut.
