King Of Fighters XIV Latest Updates, Patch Notes & Bug Fixes: Two Boss Characters Now Playable From The Start

SNK's PS4 exclusive fighting game "The King of Fighters XIV" receives another balance patch to address gameplay issues. The latest update version 1.05 will reportedly improve the game's online connectivity. Likewise, the bosses in the game who were originally unlocked by clearing its story mode can now be used from the start.

Shoryuken reports that the latest patch is focuses on "The King of Fighters XIV's" online experience. This is not like last month's patch updates that focused more on character tweaks and balances.  The update also includes some offline game enhancements.

Online gameplay improvements for "The King of Fighters XIV"

Fixes include proper distribution of online ranked match points. According to SNK, they have added new ranks and improved how the game rewards and removes points. Players can now cancel online ranked matches by pressing the 'Option' button during the game. The opponent's strength condition when searching for matches now include "a little strong" and "strong" options. Additionally, SNK says the patch improves online connection functions.

"The King of Fighters XIV" offline gameplay changes

Offline gameplay also receives some minor balance adjustments to two characters. These include Robert Garcia and Athena Asamiya. Robert's Kouryuu Koukayaku-Geri has its missing hurtbox added; while Athena Asamiya's Air Crystal Shoot (Max version) now prevents players from executing her Shining Crystal Bit (Max version) after a move cancellation. Last October 2016, SNK also released the patch version 1.03 for "The King of Fighters XIV," which dealt with a lot of character balances. Shoryuken notes that the biggest issue prior to this update was the throw invincibility after players performed a forward or backward emergency evasion. This software tweak not only fixed the invincible frames, but also addressed some input control problems overall. A summary of the patch changes can be found here.
