'Battlefield 2' Latest News & Update: 'Battlefield 2' Mod Version 1.4 Launched; Falklands War Added

Project Reality has recently launched mod version 1.4, which integrates the Falklands War in "Battlefield 2." Falklands War is a ten-week combat amongst the UK and Argentina that happened in 1982.

The Falklands Expansion has finally been completely integrated into v1.4. It has received quite an update since it was last released with v0.981. "Falklands War" features the Argentine and British groups with kits and weapons from the 1982 war.

Project Reality's v1.4 augments weapons and reliable authentic kit with the conflict. This includes infantry weapons, such as the Sterling submachine gun, L4A4 Bren LMG, and the Shorts Blowpipe, among others. There are also several new fixed weapons, such as the Rheinmetall Rh 202 AAA and Tigercat SAM gun. Aside from firepower, both groups also have a varied arsenal of new vehicles and aircraft suggested by Realitymod.

Project Reality is also announcing new gameplay systems like the CLOS SAMs, retarded bombs and more, according to Realitymod. Both groups will be accessible on two maps. One is the Goose Green, which is a 2x2 km map centered on infantry combat. The other map is dubbed "The Falklands" -- the first 8x8 km map showcasing the entire Falkland Islands with an overview of the entire battle. Also included in "The Falklands" is the airspace for numerous aircraft to fly around in. All these and more action in the Falklands War.

PCGamer reported that the mods creator note that naval features will not be available in Falklands War. Previously, naval features were in teasers, that it might be included in v1.4. However, due to real life circumstances of key developers, this was for the meantime disregarded. The developers nevertheless suggest that the naval features might be included in future updates.
