‘No Man’s Sky’ Latest News & Update: Hello Games Ups The Stakes With New ‘Survival Mode’

The “Foundation Update” for “No Man’s Sky” is finally out, something that will hopefully fix a lot of the shortcomings of the space exploration game. Bugs and performance issues have forced many to abandon it the last couple of months but the latest patch could rekindle interest.

As mentioned in a previous post, a lot hinges on update 1.1 as Hello Games tries to resurrect their ambitious project. With the active player count dwindling profusely, the latest patch adds a bit of a challenge to players outside their world-exploration intentions.

This is in reference to the “No Man’s Sky Survival Mode”, an upgrade to the default normal mode which will be harder to conquer. With the stakes upped, Hello Games hopes that such would entice hardcore gamers to take up the challenge.

In essence, “No Man’s Sky Survival Mode” is all about pushing player’s to a corner and testing how well they can handle harsh situations. This would need proper knowledge, resourcefulness, creativity and patience as they try to wiggle their way in a tougher environment.

For some gamers over at Reddit, the “No Man’s Sky Survival Mode” is a challenge that makes plenty of sense. One costly mistake will lead to player deaths, forcing most to think and endure tactics to get through situations.

As most know, building ships to get around is one of the things needed in “No Man’s Sky”. For the ones who found it difficult on normal mode, expect the search for resources to be scarcer. Worse, the items they may have collected are lost should they die at some point – frustrating but challenging to the ones who are up to the task.

The latest update for “No Man’s Sky” will also include changes to the environments, new animals and so on. If normal mode is a pansy for most, try out “No Man’s Sky Survival Mode” and show just how good of a gamer you really are.
