Warning – Titanfall beta access offerings are all scams

Titanfall is one of the most hugely anticipated upcoming titles set to arrive next year. While there’s some time left before the game finally goes official for fans, the FPS mecha shooter has already gained so much momentum that some illegal sites are trying to dupe users into signing in for a so-called “beta” offering for the game, asking for personal information in return.

Taking such problems into account, Respawn Entertainment has warned players against related scams all over the web and has advised fans against contacting and interacting with any websites that might claim to offer betas and pre-releasing testing of the game, so far ahead of its 2014 release.

“To help keep our fans safe from scammers, please note that all sites advertising Beta access are 100% scams,” Respawn wrote on Twitter to notify fans. The studio has asked fans not to provide any personal details on these sites.

While it’s a serious issue and a dangerous breach of personal information for anyone willing to interact with such sites, Respawn can actually take note of how popular the game has actually become – following the previously revealed gameplay footages. Out of all these problems, it seems like Respawn can take pride in the fact that so many people have actually opted for a beta entry to the game, irrespective of the site that it’s being offered on.

Titanfall was already in news recently after a few of its weapons were revealed which consist of the likes of an R-101, Satchel, Sidewinder AT-SMR, Smart Pistol, Data Knife, Archer, Eva-8 and Frag Grenade.

The in-game Titans will use greater fire power with their weapons being a 40mm cannon, Arc Cannon (expected to shoot arcs of lightning at enemies), Rocket Launcher and the X0-16, a heavy bullet rifle.

Titanfall, Respawn’s debut title, will see players fighting either on foot as free-running pilots or inside powerful mech-style walkers called Titans to complete team-based objectives. While the game only supports multiplayer gameplay, Respawn has done just enough to introduce single-player elements like a plot, character conversation, and even non-playable characters into the matches.

“In Titanfall, many generations of humanity live in the deepest reaches of explored space. This vast region is known as The Frontier. It contains many well-known and inhabited solar systems, but many more worlds remain uncharted,” the official page states.

“Most people will never travel this far away from normal civilization. But for pioneers, explorers, mercenaries, outlaws, and soldiers - the Frontier offers both adventure and opportunity.”

Titanfall is currently set to hit Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC next year.
