'Fallout 5' Release Dates, News & Updates: Drivable Vehicles, Better Graphics, Smoother Combat Expected; Imminent Game Prioritized Over 'The Elder Scrolls 6'?

It's been a year since "Fallout 4" launched, and fans have been salivating for a fifth installment of the series. In fact, news about a "Fallout 5" have been circulating for quite a while now, and recently it's been confirmed by voice actor Ryan Alonsio that the game is in preproduction right now, which at least guarantees that there will indeed be a sequel. But what is in store for the avid "Fallout" fan as they sit out the upcoming years while "Fallout 5" is in development?

Drivable vehicles

Despite four prequels, drivable vehicles remain a pipe dream for "Fallout" players. No wonder it appears on top of the "Fallout 5" wishlist, because despite the sheer number of vehicles lying around, not a single one of them is drivable. Seeing suitable vehicles in a postapocalyptic world, in fact, would not be anachronistic, but would serve only to highlight the depressive state that the characters are in. Plus, driving is an extremely useful skill to have especially when journeying across the terrain.

More polished combat, current-gen graphics

A lot of the demand for  what players wish to see on "Fallout 5" are mostly cosmetic changes. For example, players are asking that Bethesda finally improve its graphics to look more up to par with current gen animation. Players also demand to see the old dialogue boxes back, because those offered more flexibility. They're also demanding more polished combat scenes, especially since shooting in "Fallout 4" remains a frustrating chore.

When can it be expected

GameRant reported that Bethesda's voice actor, Ryan Alonsio, let slip that "Fallout 5" is indeed in production, or at the very least, there is internal movement within Bethesda regarding the video game. Other rumors suggested that it's currently being prioritized over an equal video game behemoth, "The Elder Scrolls VI." Stay tuned for more "Fallout 5" news.
