Blake Griffin News And Updates: Dunker Challenges Monstar, In Line For Lead In Space Jam 2

If you were to jam the culture and lifestyle of the 90's in one 90-minute movie, Space Jam would be the result. Watching Space Jam now would be like going on a time machine and travel back to the 90's. Space Jam's cultural impact is evident as there already plans for a sequel. But many believe that there's not a single basketball player alive that could fit into the shoes of the legendary Michael Jordan. But that doesn't stop people from talking about Space Jam 2. In a commercial made by Foot Locker, rumors for a Space Jam 2 are sure to follow.

Foot Locker has created a commercial featuring Blake Griffin and the Monstars, the villains of Space Jam and most likely Space Jam 2. The commercial begins with the Monstars seemingly taking over the basketball world, dominating every team and claiming every court as theirs. A group of young basketball players who want to play basketball at their local court then find out that they can't enter because the apparently the court is the now the property of the Monstars. The teenagers then go to Bugs Bunny for assistance who gives them some apparel and Blake Griffin. The commercial ends with the teenagers along with Blake Griffin challenging the Monstars.

Space Jam rumors have been around for quite a while with Lebron James expeted to be starring the sequel. Lebron James has in fact signed a big "content creation" deal with Warner Brothers. This happened one month after the studio filled new trademarks for a new Space Jam. Lebron meanwhile has expressed interest in starring the movie.

Lebron James is a viable choice for Space Jam 2. He is widley considered as the best player of this generation and is widely popular outside the USA. He may be the closest thing to Michael Jordan now.

But that doesn't mean that Blake Griffin doesn't stand a chance with the king. Blake Griffin has appeared in commercials and has shown to have a knack in comedic roles. He may lack the basketball accomplisments of Lebron James but Blake Griffin has the charisma and experience. Blake Griffin has even read Micheal Jordan's lines in Space Jam in a live read of the movie's script. Additionally, Michael Jordan himself picked Blake Griffin as his choice for Space Jam 2.

So the question now is: Is it Blake or Lebron? Whichever player Warner Brothers chooses, fans would always be unhappy of someone replacing Michael Jordan. But at least if  Blake gets chosen, his Airness wouldn't be disappointed.
