New Titanfall details point at multiplayer, game creation

Titanfall’s futuristic mech-themed combat gameplay and features have grabbed the attention of a number of fans all over the globe, and to keep up with the growing momentum towards the game, more new details have been revealed.

In a recent video interview (seen below), producer Drew McCoy talked about Titanfall’s prospects, multiplayer, and how it seamlessly mixes with the single-player aspect of the game.

“In campaign multiplayer, you will have something that introduces you to the level in the story, of what’s happening. And then while you’re playing, there will be stuff happening around you that’s part of the story,” McCoy stated. “In the Angel City level, there’s an epilogue at the end where the losing team has to escape on a drop-ship and the winning team has to try and eliminate them. So the victor has already been decided, but it’s kind of a bonus round.”

On a similar note, McCoy also talked about the team’s inspiration for the Titans and how they were actually motion-captured, rather than just being animated machines.

Additionally, according to Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella, Titanfall may not match up to the level at which the Call of Duty franchise sells its titles. At least not right away.

"It's a new brand," Zampella stated, speaking on southern California's KFI AM60 recently. "You build up momentum over the years when you put out a new brand. It's starting over, so it won't sell as well [as Call of Duty]. But for us it's...kind of a passion project. We love it. It's something new. It's taking the old paradigm of these shooter games being very grounded and two-dimensional and now adding this verticality to it and making it something that's a new experience; something that people haven't seen before."

Taking that opportunity, Zampella also revealed that Titanfall, will retail for $60 for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, and is set to release some time next year.
