Apple iPhone 6s vs. iPhone 7: Comparison of Specs, Features and Finding Out Whether It’s Worth The Upgrade

It's been a couple of months already since Apple released their newest flagship this year, the iPhone 7. But with just one year gap since the release of the iPhone 6s, fans are placed in a dilemma. Many have been contemplating on whether they should let go of their old model or get the new one.

The best way to address the dilemma is to compare and look at the similarities in terms of the specs and features. Clearly, the iPhone 7 is deemed better as it's an upgraded version but there are still several things in the iPhone 6s that are still worth holding on to.

In terms of the design, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s do not differ much. In fact, the new model only came with some minor design updates, which means it will be hard to tell if one owns the latest device or not. The difference is more on the inside compared to the outside. The colors available for each device are also almost the same. Both have Rose Gold, Gold and Silver versions. The only difference is that the 2016 model has Black and Jet Black colors while the 2015 model has a Space Grey.

Reports also reveal that both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s have the same display specs. Both sport a screen size of 4.7 inches and resolution of 750x1334 pixels. The two are different under the hood, though. The new iPhone has a quad-core processor with Apple A10 Fusion while the old iPhone is equipped with an A9 processor. Both have 2 GB of RAM and none of them have expandable storage.

As for the camera specs, it is detailed that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s both feature a 12-megapixel camera. The difference though is that the former has optical image stabilization and quad-LED flash. The iPhone 7 is also better at low-light photography. Fortunately, both models have support for 4K video recording and 8-megapixel image recording.

The iPhone 7 is also waterproof, a feature that one can't find in the iPhone 6s. So is it worth the upgrade? Fans will have to carefully weigh the pros and cons of getting a new model or sticking with the old one.
