Ubisoft Theme Park Latest News & Update: Massive IMG World Dubai To Host 'Assassin's Creed,' 'Rabbids,' 'Just Dance,' 'Pokemon' Attractions; Next Gen Malaysia Park In The Pipeline Too

Ubisoft is partnering with IMG Worlds to showcase its famous game titles in a giant indoor theme park located in Dubai. Aside from Ubisoft game-themed rides and attractions, there will also be a number of Pokemon and SpongeBob areas.

Ubisoft-Themed Rides and Attractions

GameSpot reported that Ubisoft recently announced that it is working with IMG Worlds to bring "Assassin's Creed," "Rabbids," and "Just Dance," among others, in the United Arab Emirates theme park. According to the game developer, they are planning to expand its list of franchises beyond the gaming industry.

Ubisoft is also actively working to adapt its titles into movies, with "Assassin's Creed" set to premiere soon. Ubisoft will partner with IMG Worlds to create the IMG Worlds of Legends park, which spans 2 million square feet, featuring nine zones.

Park management stated that IMG Worlds of Legends is scheduled to open in 2020. The zones will present Ubisoft titles, as well as attractions from Viacom, Mattel, "Power Rangers," "Dragon Ball Z," "SpongeBob," Barbie, "Dora The Explorer," and Pokemon.

The Vision of IMG Worlds

Lennard Otto, CEO of IMG Worlds told The National that they wish to open the proposed theme park with Ubisoft in 2020, if possible. They do not want to commit to a date that is unachievable, although it would be great to capitalize on the influx of visitors and align with their vision of attracting 20 million guests by 2020. Otto believes that their facility will be vital in supporting the expected growth.

Otto added that the IMG Worlds of Legends will be linked to IMG Worlds of Adventures through a sky bridge. Visitors can avail of a park hopper pass to visit the two areas. The two theme parks will be operated as separate ventures. He said that they have several options to finance the Ubisoft theme park.

IMG Worlds of Legends is the latest park announced. Previously IMG Worlds opened the IMG Worlds Adventure, which spans 1.5 million square feet and features attractions sponsored by Cartoon Network, Marvel and more. Ubisoft also announced that they are preparing for a similar project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2015. More updates and details on Ubisoft's theme park plans are expected soon.
