‘Blindspot’ Season 2 Latest Spoilers, News & Update: Showrunner Teases Jane, Roman Relationship Conflict; Jane’s Decision Impacts Sandstorm Mission

When "Blindspot" Season 2 returns to the small screens, Jane (Jaimie Alexander) will have to deal with the aftermath of her decision to erase Roman's (Luke Mitchell) with a drug. Latest spoiler news teased of the two characters' relationship struggles while Jane and her team continue with their mission to stop Sandstorm.

The midseason finale of "Blindspot" Season 2 featured a suspenseful scene between the siblings Jane and Roman, as Jane injected her long-lost brother with the ZIP drug to erase his memories. Despite believing that it will give Roman a second lease in life given his connection with the terrorist group Sandstorm, Jane's decision may haunt her in the second half of the NBC's show's second season.

In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Alex Berger mentioned how Jane and Roman's relationship may suffer in the bottom half of "Blindspot" Season 2. Some of Roman's memories will be a critical part of the FBI's quest to finally stop Sandstorm, according to the NBC show's co-executive producer.

However, Jane may potentially lose her brother if Roman will recover all his memories. With Jane's betrayal since she was the one who injected him with ZIP as shown during the "Blindspot" Season 2 midseason finale, Roman may decide to rejoin the terrorist group.

Berger added that the consequence of Jane's actions will impact the two siblings' already shaky relationship. He stated, "It will tear them apart."

Meanwhile, with Dr. Borden (Ukweli Roach) revealed as a Sandstorm mole during the midseason finale of "Blindspot" Season 2, the terrorist group appears to have another way to get important information from the FBI. Showrunner Martin Gero shared in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that although Sandstorm lost both Dr. Borden and Jane as their informant, the group will "somehow ... always stay a step ahead" of the FBI.

"Blindspot" Season 2 will return to the small screens on Jan. 4, 2017, Wednesday on NBC. Watch some of the highlights from the midseason 2 finale below:
