‘Attack on Titan' Season 2 Confirmed for 2017; See More News and Details Here

FUNimation is happy to announce; they acquired licensing for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 coming on April 2017. The road to the anime series' final release has not been smooth. Over the years, AoT Season 2 endured several delays; mounting to today's confirmation.

According to the Anime News Network, "Attack on Titan" Season was originally planned for 2014, then it was moved this year. Somehow, those schedules did not match the Attack on Titan manga series' final story arc; hence the final release date next year. Tetsuro Araki will direct the "Attack on Titan" Season 2; just like he did on the first one, while Masashi Koizuka will take over directing the episodes of the new AoT season.

Interestingly, you can expect the "Attack on Titan" Season 2 to be as incredible as the first one. Most members of the team responsible in creating the first season are returning. That includes Yasuko Kobayashi (series writer), Kyoji Asano (character designer) and Hiroyuki Sawano (composer). WIT Studio will return as the producer of the "Attack on Titan" Season 2.

Previous reports mentioned that, one of the reasons why "Attack on Titan" Season 2 is delayed is because of the creation of "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress." Rumors hinted that, the director at the time was busy working on the project, hence the delay on the release of Attack on Titan Season 2. Another reason was the lack of story arc for the anime series. The AoT creator and anime director agreed on a four story arc before they can start with the production.

In a statement released by FUNimation CEO Gen Fukunaga abd featured on the ComicBook, he said "Attack on Titan became an instant hit since it first streamed in 2013 and we are thrilled to bring fans the long-awaited Season 2 of the series. It is truly a worldwide phenomenon that has continued to grow at a non-stop pace. Fans can look forward to an exciting second season."
