Battlefield 4 News: Capture the Flag Mode Returning in Second Assault DLC

Beyond Maps and Guns, Battlefield 4's Second Assault DLC is Bringing Back Capture the Flag

Good news BF fans, DICE has confirmed on the Battlefield blog that Capture the Flag mode is primed to return in the game's upcoming Second Assault DLC. Fans will get their first look at the mode, as well as a few other offerings of the DLC during a livestream this Wednesday, November 20th, 12PM PST.

"We’re excited to announce the Battlefield 4 Second Assault Live Stream, presented by AMD," the post reads. "Get a first look at the Battlefield 4 Second Assault expansion, featuring four fan-favorite maps from Battlefield 3, pushed to their limits with the power of Frostbite 3 and redesigned to enhance gameplay...Throughout the stream we’ll answer your questions about the expansion pack and Battlefield 4 Premium. At the end you’ll catch the worldwide premiere of the Battlefield 4 Second Assault launch trailer."

Beyond the returning mode, the DLC also offers four redesigned Battlefield 3 maps (three of which will be shown during the livestream): Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman, Operation Firestorm, and Operation metro. Joining these new maps are 10 new assignments, and at least two returning Battlefield guns - the F2000 bullpup assault rifle, and AS Val Soviet assault rifle.

The news follows the recent leak of map names from the game's forthcoming China Rising DLC: Taklamakan, Altai Range, Guilin Peaks, and Dragon Pass. The China Rising DLC is expected to arrive this December.

Battlefield 4 stars a new protagonist to the series, that of Sergeant Daniel Recker, a member of the elite Tombstone Squad. He and the squad learn that an Admiral is in the midst of planning a coup to overthrow the current Chinese regime, with Russia ready to back him up.

You don't have to be an expert in foreign relations and politics to realize this would cause one hell of a domino effect that would see the whole planet embroiled in war.

Battlefield 4 is currently available now for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and as of today, the PlayStation 4. It will be available at launch for the Xbox One when the console releases worldwide next week, November 22.
