‘The Expanse’ Air Date, spoilers, News and Update: New Season 2 Trailer Out, Features Captain Holden, Detective Miller Caught Up in Conspiracy and Cover-Up

Syfy's new trailer for "The Expanse" season 2 is out and fans are even more excited to have the upcoming season come around soon. Followers of the show can look forward to more excitement in the cosmos with what may be a war of the worlds threatening to blow up.

Humanity may have mastered planetary exploration, but when it comes to keeping the peace, even a distant planet is not far enough to prevent war from erupting. The friction between worlds---Earth, Mars, and the Belt---has grown even more abrasive, much more after the catastrophe involving Eros. Besides the discontent on job conditions on the Belt and issues of gravity deprivation, a bigger threat in which everyone seems concerned is the looming issue on the alien protomolecule.

The new trailer shows the crew of Rocinante headed by Captain Holden (Steven Strait), with Detective Miller (Thomas Jane) and Colonel Fred Johnson (Chad Coleman) right at the center of the ongoing strife. It also offers a brief glimpse of the Gunnery Sergeant of the Martian Marines, Bobbie Draper, a few Martians, and a hot scene with Holden and Naomi (Dominique Tipper), the Rocinante Belter engineer.

The official synopsis for "The Expanse" season 2 touches as well about Holden and Miller being caught up in the maelstrom of a "vast conspiracy to cover up a horrific human experiment." It speaks of a cold war between Earth and Mars that teeters on a thin precipice of impending war.

As the President of Syfy and Chiller, Dave Howe, says of the series, "The Expanse is firing on all cylinders creatively, building a passionate fan base among viewers and critics alike, and delivering on Syfy's promise of smart, provocative science fiction entertainment. We can't wait to see where the story takes us in season two."

The double-episode premiere for "The Expanse" in the United States will be out Feb. 1, 10 PM on Syfy. As for the United Kingdom's air date and channel, an announcement will be made at a later juncture.
