Assassin’s Creed Pirates for Android and iOS now pushed out

More looting, brawling and pillaging is at hand as Ubisoft has finally given the green-light to the mobile spin-off to its newly released Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, called Assassin’s Creed Pirates.

Announced last month for high end smartphones and tablets, Assassin’s Creed Pirates focuses entirely on naval combat, taking place at the same time as Black Flag, and features a brand new character to the Assassin’s Creed universe.

Pirates places players in the boots of Alonzo Batilla, “a young and ambitious captain, a pirate eager to take on the fiercest of enemies,” and will look to explore the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy.

“Players will be tasked to manage their crew, upgrade their ship, recruit new crew members and engage in massive real-time naval battles to become the most feared pirate in the Caribbean and claim La Buse's renowned treasure,” the official press release for the same states.

“Along the way, players will cross paths with Assassins and Templars, as well as famous buccaneers including Blackbeard, Bellamy, and Hornigold.”

Apart from allowing players to fight it out to the top in real-time naval battles all over the Caribbean, the game also features a wide range of weapons that players can make use of while in the game.

There is option to set sail on the high seas by acquiring the most iconic boats known to have graced the seas. The list ranges from the smallest gunboat to the Man O’War floating fortress. Along the way, players will also have the option to upgrade their vessels by using the bounty that players have plundered in their past encounters.

Other than that, players also have the opportunity to handpick their own crew members while learning more than 50 new pirating techniques “to become a better captain and the true master of naval combat,” the official description states.

As far as exploration and searching for new lands to plunder are concerned, it has also been confirmed that the mobile spin-off to Black Flag will allow players to sail through a vast array of islands while exploring a huge Caribbean map, with more than 50 story and side missions, and nearly a hundred treasure documents and lost parchments waiting to be unearthed.

Assassin’s Creed Pirates, which is also said to offer groundbreaking 3D visuals on mobile and tablets with ever-changing, real-time weather conditions, is currently available for $4.99 for both Android (Google Play) and iOS (iTunes). Check out the trailer below.
