HTC Smartphone News & Update: Upcoming HTC 11; Specs, Designs, Release Date, Borderless Screen

The HTC 10 was the company's best handset yet, but that doesn't mean HTC has been resting since its release in fact, the company is well underway with the development of what many assume will be called the "HTC 11." Powering the unit will be announced Snapdragon 835 chipset carrying an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU. The display will be 5.5 inches with a Quad HD resolution.

It is also claimed that the phone will include the new "Quick Charge 4.0," which basically improves charging times, and goes hand in hand with the Snapdragon 835. Along with that battery, we will supposedly see a 3,700mAh battery which is a step up from the 3,000mAh battery in the HTC 10.

"Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0" replenishes the battery 20% faster than Quick Charge 3.0. Android 7.0 is pre-installed along with HTC's Sense 8 UI. The phone is expected to be launched in the middle of 2017, will be priced in U.K. at an equivalent of $691 USD. Thisdevice will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which is considered as "Qualcomm's Flagship Processor for the Year."

"HTC 11" will carry a huge 8GB of RAM, which is totally differing from 4GB in the HTC 10. That should make multi-tasking a snap; with 256GB of native storage, users will be able to download and install a ton of apps as well as store many pictures and videos. A dual-camera setup is on back with both cameras weighing in at 12MP, and an 8MP front-facing camera takes self-focused images and generates video chats.

The leak gave us some details about what to expect from an almost edge-to-edge display. The display will be 5.5 inches with a Quad HD resolution. That is a little larger in size than the HTC 10, but the resolution stays the same, meaning the display will be slightly less sharp but not noticeably so.
