LEGO The Last of Us Trailer is Hysterical

The Next LEGO Game - The Last of Us?

Naughty Dog's The Last of Us is a very good game, but it seems like it could have been much better. Check out animator Brian Anderson's take on the game, if it were part of the LEGO series.

Brian Anderson is also the mad genius behind the LEGO Breaking Bad spoof that earned well over a million views earlier this year. The man's certainly got a knack for both the games and the properties and it wouldn't be a surprise if someone doesn't hire him for a job based on these. LEGO: The Last of Us is really great work. He gets everything right for a LEGO game; the UI, the way the characters move and react to things, even the rotating Lego Firefly pendant during the loading screen is perfect. And ok, he goes a little overboard with that fan bait during the surprise ending, but it works.

It really would be funny to see a LEGO take on a more adult-themed property like this, but alas, LEGO will undoubtedly stick to the family-friendly.

As for fans of The Last of Us, don't forget that there's major new DLC on the way. Called The Last of Us: Left Behind, it's a single-player prequel story that shows Ellie attending a military boarding school in the Boston quarantine zone with her best friend Riley. According to the comic "The Last of Us: American Dreams" Riley acts as a mentor of sorts to Ellie, looking up to the Fireflies and teaching Ellie to be wary of the military. Riley is also briefly mentioned in the main game, but I won't spoil what was said if you haven't played it. a certain friend getting into trouble. Expect it to hit sometime in the next few months.

For now, just rewatch the LEGO version and chuckle at how perfect it is.
