‘The Sims 5’ Release Date, News & Update: Fans want VR technology; Maxis in profit-crunching mode for ‘The Sims 4’

Hopes for "The Sims 5" are fast fading. Earlier it was reported that the developer Maxis would even think of making "The Sims 5" depending on the success of "The Sims 4." Currently, Maxis is analyzing the numbers for "The Sims 4" and it may not after all be good news.

One of the primary reasons why "The Sims 4" is not bringing in big bucks is because of its availability in limited platforms. It's available only on Mac and PC for the time being. If Maxis is not ready to expand to other platforms, how does it expect to make the money it wants to make? They are losing out on players who are loyal to other platforms. This simple fact is putting the future of "The Sims 5" in danger.

Naturally, fans are upset with the developer as they desperately want "The Sims 5." "The Sims 4" has reportedly sold five million copies worldwide. This is quite a number, enough to pacify the developer in coming up with the next installment. However, this may not be the case as EA and Maxis are heavily banking on the success of the latest "The Sims 4: City Living" DLC to make a decision.

If at all "The Sims 5" is made, it is expected to be unveiled in the fourth quarter of 2017, writes NEUROGADGET. Hardcore "Sims" fans are already speculating about its features. The game could be marketed as the first "The Sims" game to accommodate VR and 360-degree game features. Virtual Reality is the next big thing in gaming and "The Sims 5" is the perfect canvas for such features.

Augmented reality technology is exactly what "The Sims 5" needs and fans are eager to see EA rise up to their expectation and announce the game. Stay tuned on GameNGuide for more updates on "The Sims 5."
