Xbox News & Update: Free Xbox One And Xbox 360 Gold Games This Coming January 2017; Limited Edition Only!

Microsoft has announced the January 2017 Games With Gold lineup, revealing the first freebies of the New Year. Starting this January 1, "World of Van Helsing: Deathtrap" will be offered for the low, low price of free on Xbox One. Also that day, "Double Fine: The Cave" will become available at no cost for Xbox 360. What better way to ring in the New Year than with a fresh collection of free games for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Furthermore on January 16, "Killer Instinct Season 2" will go free, with Rayman Origins dropping down to zero dollars and zero cents for Xbox 360. Note that the "Xbox 360 Games with Gold games" also play on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. On Xbox 360, Gold members will be treated to Double Fine adventure game The Cave and near-perfect plat former "Rayman Origins," be sure to grab December's freebies before they return to their normal prices.

"Deathtrap: World of Van Helsing" will be available in Xbox One this January 1-31 for just $19.99. "Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition" will also be purchased in Xbox One this Januray 15 to February 15 for just $39.99. For both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, "The cave" and "Raymans Origins" will be available this January 1-30 for just $14.99.

It's going to be a big week for Xbox Live, as Microsoft is rolling out what it calls the biggest sale ever this week preparing for the upcoming 2017. There will be more than 350 deals in all, across games and entertainment. The promo starts on December 22; it's a solid assortment of interesting Indies that should tide gamers over during a quiet month. Of course, you can still get three of the four games from December's "Games with Gold."
