Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Latest News & Update: New Claims Ramp Up Presence of Optical Fingerprint And Iris Scanner Security

The potentials specs of the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 continue to pour in, the latest of which renders iterations on previous claims. The latest has to do with the security features – fingerprint and iris scanning.

Samsung is expected to try and impress with the upcoming flagship due to come out by the first quarter of 2017. A lot of this is to weather the storm created by the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and its celebrated battery-exploding issue.

As mentioned in a previous post, the features for the Samsung Galaxy S8 possibly include an improved camera and focus on an advanced AI system similar (if not better) to Apple’s Siri. There are ever rumors that the device could offer a foldable OLED display.

The latest dish covers the biometric security features of the Samsung Galaxy S8 with some iterations on where they would be found. Latest reports claim that the optical fingerprint scanner will be found at the back instead of the previous rumors that it would be integrated on the display of the upcoming flagship.

There is also the iris recognition sensor of the Samsung Galaxy S8 which will allegedly be faster. This is the same feature that was present on the fallen Samsung Galaxy Note 7 only better.

Aside from the two new biometric features, there is also the Samsung Pass service meant to re-engage the device with banks and financial institutions, Naver.com reported. Take note that most of these rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S8 have yet to be confirmed and that most may or may not suffice.

Rumors for the next Samsung flagship are expected to ramp up in the coming days leading to the Mobile World Congress 2017. Samsung is expected to release a Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge before MWC 2017, likely via their “Unpacked” event which normally takes place days before the annual February gathering, Sam Mobile reported.
