Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition Announced for Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, and Xbox 360

Do you like wrestling? Do you like Luchadors? Guacamole? Metroidvania-style games? Memes? PORTS?! Well, then you'll be happy to hear that Guacamelee is headed to new consoles. Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition has been announced by developer DrinkBox for digital release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and even the Wii U (bless that little console).

Much like the Gold Edition of Guacamelee, Super Turbo Championship Edition will include all prior DLC in one package. This rendition, though, will include some new content. New levels and boss battles, along with new abilities for playable characters, are said to be among the new features present in the Super Turbo release. There's even talk of expanding the game's story.

Guacamemlee originally released on PlayStation 3 and the Vita in April of last year. It then released on PC with DLC included in August. The game has been described to be within the Metroidvania genre: a 2D side-scrolling platformer with free-roaming exploration. Guacamelee stars a luchador named Juan Aguacate, tasked with saving the world from evil and rescuing El Presidente's daughter. Juan travels through the living and the dead world throughout his adventure. The game is filled with goofy jokes and is inspired by Mexican folklore.

The press release of Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition states that the game will be “coming soon”. Check out the announcement trailer below.
