‘Pokemon Sun And Moon’: Is This Why Players Keep Failing Global Missions?

The success of Niantic’s “Pokemon Go” brought many sales to the new Pokemon titles “Sun and Moon” but with large audiences there always come problems. One of them now affects the success of global missions.

Game Rant shares that a technical issue prevents players from fulfilling the requirements of global missions. To understand the issue better, they have given examples of what the challenges are. One of them required players to cumulatively catch 100 million pokemons, another one wanted them to defeat 1 million pokemons using the Island Scan feature. Sadly, both these missions have been failed, as players have not managed to pass them on time. The reason behind it is not lack of players or enthusiasm, but a technical issue.

Kotaku shares that the problem hides in the “Pokémon Global Link”. It is impossible for new players to register or connect to the community service. After writing up their information, the page refreshes instead of submitting the information. Contacting customer support gives two solutions to the problem, first is to add a name to their Pokemon Trainer Account, and set their PGL setting to “Nobody”. Sadly, this method does not prove successful to everyone. Players still have troubles connecting and there is no answer from Technical Support nor from Nintendo.

Cinema Blend shares the story of another glitch which has become popular lately. This one concerns corrupted save data, which becomes unusable. After some digging, it was revealed that it was not a native 3DS issue, but the result of tempering with the game’s data through hacking tools. An outdated tool named PKHex causes this bug, as it creates a mismatch in the way data is recorded by the game. The tool’s creator Kurt admitted to the issue coming from the tool and shunned the people who complained from the game not working properly, without mentioning the use of third party programs.
