'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Roster: Ryder Doesn't Look Like Jayde Rossi; Experts Say It's Ok

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" features a number of female characters as seen in the trailers, including the female protagonist Ryder, whose looks were supposedly based on the likeness of Jayde Rossi. This, however, was faced with criticisms, as reports suggest that Ryder's looks are far from the actual likeness of Rossi, further noting that BioWare may have likely wanted to make the female character look "ugly."

"Mass Effect: Andromeda's" Female Ryder Has Awkward Facial Animations

The "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" female Ryder became noticeable during the gameplay trailer at The Game Awards shown last year. According to reports, a number of facial animations for Ryder appeared a bit awkward and rushed, which seemed to be strange for BioWare, given the almost perfect face capture they made for Miranda Lawson in "Mass Effect: Andromeda 2" in 2010. Meantime, reports also claim that teammate Cora Harper looked "masculine."

However, some game experts believe that this "ugly" looking appearance of some female characters in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" should not matter, considering that the women are supposed to be soldiers and not super models. In fact, others do not agree that the likeness of these female characters is unattractive, or has to be attractive.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda", nevertheless, is not built on the concept of having a complete cast of attractive people. As reports suggest, the game is built on being an excellent role-playing game that makes the players fulfill their fantasies of exploring the stars, see new worlds and meet new species of life, The Zero Review reported.
