JRPG 2017: 'Pixel Noir' PS4, PS Vita Releases In 2018; New 'Project Prelude Rune' Revealed By Square Enix

JRPG-inspired "Pixel Noir" will be published by BadLand Games for PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One and Steam in the first quarter of 2018. The physical details, however, have not been revealed.

The JRPG game developed by SWD Tech Games allows gamers to play as a cop that turns private eye following a 10-year stint in the prison. Due to an investigation that has gone awry, which leaves a partner dead, the player is put in jail for a crime not committed.

JRPG-inspired "Pixel Noir" is reported to have a colorful cast of characters that takes the players through the diverse territories of the Pinnacle City as they search for the truth. The players are also expected to fight against the criminal underground and be brave enough to face beings beyond their imagination.

Meantime, the JRPG game features a soundtrack written and performed by composer Kunal Majmudar and the popular Secret of Mana composer Hiroki Kikuta.  Reports also suggest that crossovers with the indie darlings in "Shovel Knight" and "Heart Forth", "Alicia" are also underway.

JRPG-inspired "Pixel Noir" players are also expected to different mysteries from murder investigations to missing pet. Their detective skills will allow them to earn face punches and fortune, iPlay PS Vita reported.

Meanwhile, another JRPG named "Project Prelude Rune" has been announced by Square Enix to come from the new studio formed by Tales producer Hideo Baba. According to reports, Studio Istolia brings memorable stories that inspire players in their own lives, providing new game experiences to other players around the world.
