Dark Souls Easter Egg Hidden On ‘Battlefield 1’ Map

Dark Souls Easter Egg Hidden On ‘Battlefield 1’ Map

Easter Eggs are hidden secrets, left for the player to discover for himself, as he experiences a game. Placing them in games has been a tradition since the inception of gaming itself and is going on with full power.

The newest discovered Easter Egg in “Battlefield 1” has been discovered and is a direct shout out to the “Dark Souls”. Video Game 24/7 reports that a bonfire has been discovered among “Battlefield 1” assets. On the public testing servers of EA”s popular shooter have been uploaded the files of the game’s first major DLC “The Shall Not Pass”. Players have taken their good time in scouring through every little piece of land that the new maps have to offer. On the map named “Rapture”, has been discovered a familiar bonfire with a sword stuck in it.

This is not where the surprises end. Gamerant reports that the sword is not there only for cosmetic purposes. It can actually be picked up and used as a regular melee weapon. Getting is quite tricky though, as players are forced to leave map boundaries, which gives them just enough time to pick the sword and run back. Even though the sword requires some sacrifice, it is a plain melee weapon with no additional effects. Still, it is amazing that DICE have allowed themselves not only to leave this little surprise for fans, but to also make it interactive.

This is not the only “Battlefield 1” Easter Egg to have been discovered in recent days. M Web shares a dark secret which hides beneath “Fort Vaux”. In one of the corridors there is a small white door, which most players would just walk pass, without paying much of attention to it. But the secret is in the details. Those who stay a while and listen to the noises around them will hear strange growling coming from behind the door. This is considered as a sign towards the appearance of a zombie outbreak in “Battlefield 1”. Will it be a special event, or a separate mode, much like Nazi Zombies in “Call of Duty”, it is not sure. But the dead are nearing the fields of battle.

“Battlefield 1” is available for purchase on PC, PS 4 and XBOX One.
