‘Blackwood Crossing’: Available On PS4, Xbox One & PC; Release Date On April 4 Brings Power Drama

Gamers waiting for "Blackwood Crossing" from indie studio PaperSeven have something definite to look forward to.  The game will come out in less than a month's time, during the first week of April.

"Blackwood Crossing" Gameplay

The studio has recently announced that the upcoming adventure video game will soon be available and will soon allow gamers to play the brother-sister character Scarlett and Finn.  The two children found themselves aboard a magical train and cannot remember a single thing why they are there in the first place.  Players will take the role of the older Scarlet first, on her early teens, while Finn is her 10-year old brother, Polygon reported.

The first-person game is a bit of a powerful drama.  Scarlet and Finn have always been close since they lost their parents several years ago in a car accident, but being an adolescent is taking a toll on their relationship.  Players are then tasked to make the sibling's relationship strong again. Scarlett will also find out that she has supernatural ability of some sort and they need to figure out who the mysterious person that keeps showing up on their adventures.

"Blackwood Crossing" will be made available for the PlayStation 4 starting April 4, while Xbox One and Windows PC gamers will be able to play the game the following day.  The game will be offered for $15.99 in the U.S. market.

Paperseven Provided Real Facial Expression, Emotional Responses

Meanwhile, Alice Guy, PaperSeven's studio head, said in an interview that the development team behind the game worked hard to produce the two protagonists of their game.   Scarlet and Finn are the result of different character ideas.  The team has selected what made sense for the characters, both individually and then as siblings, PC Games reported.

Once the game is made available next month, the studio is hoping that aside from the aesthetics of the game, players will also notice the emotional responses and facial expressions of the main characters.  Guy added that the company opted for strong voiced actors to make it more believable for the players.

"Blackwood Crossing" is a first-person narrative adventure game and will be available on the first week of April for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC for $15.99.  Watch the game's demo gameplay:
