Skyrim as a Bear? Sorry Goat Simulator, Bear Simulator Just Kickstarted Our Hearts

Now, Goat Simulator is near and dear to our hearts, but Bear Simulator... well, who wouldn't want to be a bear, with all of the fish-eating and and terrorizing and hibernating that would entail? As developer Farjay Studios points out in their Kickstarter project to fund the game- "Sure it may seem like a 'dumb idea' or a 'really dumb idea'" but you can't honestly tell me you've never secretly wanted to be a bear wandering around the forest. That's just an outright lie."

They've got us there.

Much like Skyrim, you'll walk around the world exploring and eating fish and berries. While the pictures and videos show the bear in "bipedal mode", the bear will behave like a normal bear for the most part- this is a simulation, after all.

The Kickstarter is in place to add tons of new features to the game and will provide funding for new models and textures, sound effects and art, programming, and a copy of The Berenstain Bears. Everything they need. Backers at the $15 level and up get the game and a backer-exclusive key that gets you into a mysterious shed found in the wilderness that can't be smashed down. Higher levels give you other rewards like Bear Sunglasses, an OST, a red squirrel buddy and even the chance to be featured alongside Tom Hanks (a surefire backer, apparently) as a picture in the game. Check out all the backer levels right here.

As of this writing they've amassed $2,300 of their goal of $29,500, and with 29 days to goal they'll certainly achieve that. Check out the trailer for the game below in all its ursine goodness.

Does this game indicate a new trend of animal simulators? What animal would you want to see next? Lion Simulator? Whale Simulator?

One thing's for sure- I hope we see Goat Simulator Vs. Bear Simulator sometime in the future to watch these two titans of the animal kingdom take each other on. Good luck to Farjay Studios and Bear Simulator's success!
